Do you want to still be involved with ASID’s 2026 Product Runway but just didn’t have the time to commit to a full garment design team? We are introducing a new creative opportunity for you to create something fun for the live auction. At the end of the runway show, all items/props will be auctioned off and all proceeds from the auction will go directly to our chosen charities.
In addition to designing/creating a garment, each Product Runway design team is required to create a supporting small item/prop that will be used during their runway performance. Design teams have been paired with one HARD GOOD and one SOFT GOOD Garment Label Sponsor who is providing materials to be used in the construction and/or decoration of their items.
In similar fashion, you now have the opportunity to create an item, prop, art piece, etc. that follows the design inspiration of one of the following “The Vaudeville Extravaganza in Dreamland” themes:
- THE TRAPEZE ARTIST / AERIAL ACT
- THE BIG TOP ANIMAL TAMER
- THE CARNIVAL SIDESHOW
Each creator will be provided with a list of sponsors that have offered to provide HARD and SOFT goods for you to use as part of your item creation. Your completed creation must contain at least 50% of materials (mix of hard and soft goods) supplied by these sponsors. You have the option to modify the color of their materials by method of painting, dying, etc. The remaining 50% can be additional design/construction materials, or any self-supplied materials. All creations must be designed and handmade. No purchasing or outsourcing is allowed.
Creators are required to submit a DIGITAL POSTER that will be on display at the runway event. Once registered, you will be provided with a template that must be used for consistency of presentations. Digital Posters will include:
- Creator’s name and theme
- A list of the material sponsors; including the company, company representative’s names, and company logos
- A description of the creation and how it relates, interprets, and pays homage to the theme
- An illustration of the creation + call outs to show how and where each of the materials are used and the percentage of each material
